That's all.

I drew this a few months ago and entered it in an art sale. This is what I based the book cover on. Finishing strong for the blog.

This was a blow-up of an artist's work featured in one of my art books, the print was very small and I wanted to enlarge the it to focus on the face, I made a sketch then used PhotoShop to edit it. He wears an eye patch over his right eye, but that was kind of lost in the end product.

This was a fun little drawing, I had been studying surrealists in an art class and ended up with this. Maybe he has special powers...

Something a little psychedelic. I wanted to imitate the 60's and 70's style cut-out and clashing colors. I was going for a water/fire idea.

Parkour!

A composition inspired by the game Mirror's Edge. The background reflection is a screen shot of one of the levels. I wanted to recreate the game's high contrast, stylized look by blacking out my figure and highlighting it with bright red. I really liked the end result. :)

I saw part of Ocean's 13 and Casino Royal over the weekend, and wanted to sketch a casino scene. I've been working on my side flips lately and the training is finally paying off. Now I must work on landing...
Strange how many ideas come to me in dreams. These earrings were the only things I remembered from that particular dream and I drew them the moment I woke up. I imagined sapphires embedded in a white gold wing design. Could be worn on a hook from the tip of the feathers, or as a stud from behind the center stone.

These are from a few years ago, and I was tossing around ideas for game armor. This was back when I had less of a life than I do now. Too many RPGs...
For those of you who are familiar with the Legend of Zelda series, this is a Zora based costume idea I had and discussed with my girlfriend. We were assigning game species to ourselves and our friends, apparently I'm a Deku.

This was done primarily as a study of wrinkles in not only the face but the hands and robe. A quiet monk possibly falling asleep, alone in his prayers.

Two different versions of the same idea. I was thinking about a youth on the edge of the city of the mind, with the habit of chasing rogue thoughts and dreams that we forget or give up on. The red sky was from a picture I took from a window on my stairs walking up from breakfast at, like, 6:30.

I want this to be a T shirt. This was hell to do in PhotoShop from a sketch...

Just a simple profile test. I didn't get much sketching done over the weekend.

A sketch of my friend's girlfriend, who showed up wearing this dress. I added a goblet on the arm of the throne which really was the only element other than the high back of the chair that was not present in reality.

Not much this week, best ones are the top and bottom heads. Lots of Cromartie High references. I recently finished The Poisonwood Bible, and was inspired to draw the guy in the rain, mourning the death of one of the characters.
Evil! Fun with contrast and levels.
I drew this thinking about an average city kid looking down over the city, all vigilante style.

A character from the manga/anime Cromartie High School, the one normal kid in the entire school, Kamiyama.
Final draft of the Bass project.

Ok, a little weird this week. Started working more extensively with heavy shading. Human subjects attract more attention, so which did you see first?
A revised draft of the project. I need feed back, something seems not 100% with this but I can't put my finger on it.

Sunset

A lonely traceuse observes the sunset over the city.

Holding

My hands. I alternated posing and drawing every few minutes. The pose I thought of when tired/sleep deprived, and I thought it looked like people hugging.

City 2

My second city done in PhotoShop, the bar name is a FLCL reference. I tried going for a more grungy, beat-up look.

City 1

This is a study done entirely in PhotoShop for perspective.
I picture a monastery in a quiet grove, over run by the local plant life.
Play video games much? Steampunk, anybody? A HUD - Heads Up Display. Too much time on PhotoShop.

If You Only Knew...

I drew this while watching Myth Busters. I edited it on PhotoShop, the words are lyrics from a Shine Down song.

Angel defeats a demon

Ok, this is just epic. The low angle was difficult to express, but it came out looking alright. I like the demon's skull structure, and the horns.

Angel

An angel floating on water, contemplating the ripples. I have a colored version, but I prefer b/w.

Week one sketches

Here's my first sketch page. It's my first time in a while using pen to draw.

This is my blog test. More to come soon.
